The blessed month

A month lived together

Through Ramadan the mosque keeps its fullest rhythm of the year — fasting broken together at Maghrib, Taraweeh prayed every night, and the search for Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights. The timetable below covers the whole month, from the first Sehri to the final Iftar.

Sehri — intention for fasting

“I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.”

Made before the fast begins — eating and drinking stop when Sehri ends, at the start of Fajr time.

Iftar — breaking the fast

“O Allah! I fasted for You, I believe in You, I put my trust in You and I break my fast with Your sustenance.”

Recited at Maghrib, when the fast is opened.

We advise that all stop eating and drinking with a couple of minutes to spare as a general precaution, and perform Fajr at least 3 minutes after the beginning time.

Taraweeh & the last ten nights

Taraweeh

Taraweeh is prayed at the mosque every night of Ramadan, following the Isha congregation — Isha Jamāʻah times for each night are in the timetable above.

Laylatul Qadr

Seek the Night of Decree on the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan — a night better than a thousand months, spent in prayer, dhikr and seeking forgiveness.

Fitrana (Zakat al-Fitr)

£5 per person, obligatory for all Muslims, and must be paid before the Eid prayer so it reaches those in need in time.

Sadaqah · Zakat · Lillah
