Who we are

About Paisley Muslim Community Trust

A mosque in the heart of Paisley — steps from the town’s high street and the University of the West of Scotland — serving the Muslim community of Renfrewshire.

Our story

More than a mosque

Paisley Muslim Community Trust (PMCT) runs Paisley Central Mosque at 22 Wellmeadow Street, in the town centre. As a registered charity (SC044603), the trust is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, education and community harmony — for Muslims across Paisley and Renfrewshire, and for the town as a whole.

The mosque holds up to 200 worshippers, with a dedicated section for women and modern, separate facilities for ablution and prayer, so that everyone can worship in comfort.

We see ourselves as a cornerstone of the Paisley community: a place that empowers individuals and strengthens the bonds within society.

What the trust works for

  • The advancement of education and religion.
  • Promoting racial and cultural harmony.
  • Providing assistance to the vulnerable and underserved.
