From the Qurʻan

Quranic duas

رَبَّنَآ اٰتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbanā ātinā fi-d-dunyā ḥasanah wa fil-ākhirati ḥasanah wa qinā ʿadhāba-n-nār

Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Quran 2:201

لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّيْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ

Lā ilāha illā Anta subḥānaka innī kuntu mina-ẓ-ẓālimīn

There is no god worthy of worship except You. You are free from imperfection. Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.

Quran 21:87 (Dua of Prophet Yunus)

رَبِّ إِنِّيْ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ

Rabbi innī ẓalamtu nafsī fa-ghfirlī

My Lord, I have certainly wronged myself, so forgive me.

Quran 28:16 (Dua of Prophet Musa)

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِيْنَ

Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa il-lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā la-nakūnanna mina-l-khāsirīn

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

Quran 7:23 (Dua of Adam & Hawwa)

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوْبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ

Rabbanā lā tuzigh qulūbanā baʿda idh hadayatanā wa hab lanā min ladunka raḥmah innaka Anta-l-Wahhāb

Our Lord, do not let our hearts swerve from the truth after You have guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Yourself. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

Quran 3:8

رَبِّ زِدْنِيْ عِلْمًا

Rabbi zidnī ʿilmā

My Lord, increase me in knowledge.

Quran 20:114

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِيْ صَدْرِيْ ، وَيَسِّرْ لِيْٓٓ أَمْرِيْْ ، وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّنْ لِّسَانِيْ ، يَفْقَهُوْا قَوْلِيْ

Rabbi-sh-shraḥ lī ṣadrī. Wa yassir lī amrī. Waḥlul ʿuqdatam-mil-lisānī. Yafqahū qawlī

My Lord, put my heart at peace for me, make my task easy for me, and remove the impediment from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.

Quran 20:25-28 (Dua of Prophet Musa)

رَبِّ إِنِّيْ لِمَآ أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيْرٌ

Rabbi innī limā anzalta illayya min khayrin faqīr

My Lord, truly I am in dire need of any good which You may send me.

Quran 28:24 (Dua of Prophet Musa)

رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِيْ صَغِيْرًا

Rabbi-r-ḥamhumā kamā rabbayānī ṣaghīrā

My Lord, have mercy upon them (my parents) as they raised and nurtured me when I was young.

Quran 17:24

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَّاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ إِمَامًا

Rabbanā hab lanā min azwājinā wa dhuriyyātinā qurrata aʿyunin waj-ʿalnā lil-muttaqīna imāmā

Our Lord, grant us spouses and offspring who will be a joy to our eyes, and make us leaders for the righteous.

Quran 25:74

رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيْعُ الدُّعَاءِ

Rabbi hab lī mi-l-ladunka dhuriyyatan ṭayyibah innaka samīʿu-d-duʿā

My Lord, grant me from Yourself pious offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.

Quran 3:38 (Dua of Prophet Zakariyya)

رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا

Rabbana-ṣrif ʿan-nā ʿadhāba Jahannama inna ʿadhābahā kāna gharāmā

Our Lord, turn away from us the punishment of Hell-fire; indeed its punishment is inescapable.

Quran 25:65

رَبَّنَآ أَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُوْرَنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Rabbanā atmim lanā nūranā wa-ghfir lanā innaka ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr

Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things All-Powerful.

Quran 66:8

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِيْنَ سَبَقُوْنَا بِالْإِيْمَانِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِيْ قُلُوْبِنَا غِلًّا لِّلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ رَؤُوْفٌ رَّحِيْمٌ

Rabbana-ghfir lanā wa li-ikhwānina-l-ladhīna sabaqūnā bi-l-īmān wa lā tajʿal fī qulūbinā ghilla-l-lilladhīna āmanū Rabbanā innaka Ra'ūfur-Raḥīm

Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith, and put not in our hearts any resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.

Quran 59:10

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَآ إِنْ نَّسِينَآ أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَآ إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَآ أَنْتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِيْنَ

Rabbanā lā tu'ākidhnā in-nasīnā aw akhṭa'nā Rabbanā wa lā taḥmil ʿalaynā iṣran kamā ḥamaltahū ʿala-l-ladhīna min qablinā Rabbanā wa lā tuḥammilnā mā lā ṭāqata lanā bihī waʿfu ʿannā wa-ghfir lanā wa-rḥamnā Anta Mawlānā fa-nṣurnā ʿala-l-qawmi-l-kāfirīn

Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Quran 2:286

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِيْٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِيْٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِيْ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِيْنَ

Rabbi awziʿnī an ashkura niʿmataka-l-latī anʿamta ʿalayya wa ʿalā wālidayya wa an aʿmala ṣāliḥan tarḍāhu wa adkhilnī bi-raḥmatika fī ʿibādika-ṣ-ṣāliḥīn

My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do righteousness of which You approve. Admit me by Your mercy into the ranks of Your righteous servants.

Quran 27:19 (Dua of Prophet Sulayman)

رَبِّ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَّحْضُرُوْنِ

Rabbi aʿūdhu bika min hamazāti-sh-shayāṭīn. Wa aʿūdhu bika Rabbi ay-yaḥḍurūn

My Lord, I seek protection with You from the promptings of the devils, and I seek protection with You, my Lord, lest they should come near me.

Quran 23:97-98

رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَّثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِيْنَ

Rabbanā afrigh ʿalaynā ṣabra-w-wa thabbit aqdāmanā wa-nṣurnā ʿala-l-qawmi-l-kāfirīn

Our Lord, pour upon us patience, make our steps firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.

Quran 2:250

From the Sunnah

Sunnah duas

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدٰى وَالتُّقٰى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنٰى

Allāhumma innī as'aluka-l-hudā wa-t-tuqā wa-l-ʿafāfa wa-l-ghinā

O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.

Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِيْ دِيْنِيْ الَّذِيْ هُوَ عِصْمَةُ أَمْرِيْ، وَأَصْلِحْ لِيْ دُنْيَايَ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا مَعَاشِيْ، وَأَصْلِحْ لِيْ آخِرَتِيَ الَّتِيْ فِيْهَا مَعَادِيْ، وَاجْعَلِ الْحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِيْ فِيْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ، وَاجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِيْ مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ

Allāhumma aṣliḥ lī dīniya-l-ladhī huwa ʿiṣmatu amrī, wa aṣliḥ lī dunyāya-l-latī fīhā maʿāshī, wa aṣliḥ lī ākhiratiya-l-latī fīhā maʿādī, waj-ʿali-l-ḥayāta ziyādatali-l-lī fī kulli khayr, waj-ʿali-l-mawta rāḥatali-l-lī min kulli sharr

O Allah, set right for me my religion which is the safeguard of my affairs. Set right for me my worldly affairs in which is my living. Set right for me my Hereafter to which is my return. Make life an increase for me in every good and make death a relief for me from every evil.

Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْهَرَمِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina-l-ʿajzi wa-l-kasal, wa-l-jubni wa-l-bukhl, wa-l-haram, wa aʿūdhu bika min ʿadhābi-l-qabr, wa aʿūdhu bika min fitnati-l-maḥyā wa-l-mamāt

O Allah, I seek Your protection from inability and laziness, cowardice and miserliness, and old age. I seek Your protection from the punishment of the grave, and I seek Your protection from the trials of life and death.

Bukhari

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ جَهْدِ الْبَلَاءِ، وَدَرَكِ الشَّقَاءِ، وَسُوْءِ الْقَضَاءِ، وَشَمَاتَةِ الْأَعْدَاءِ

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min jahdi-l-balā', wa daraki-sh-shaqā', wa sū'i-l-qaḍā', wa shamātati-l-aʿdā'

O Allah, I seek Your protection from severe calamity, from misery to fall upon me, from a bad fate, and from the enemies' malicious rejoicing.

Bukhari & Muslim

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوْبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِيْ عَلَىٰ دِيْنِكَ

Yā Muqalliba-l-qulūb thabbit qalbī ʿalā dīnik

O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.

Tirmidhi

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

Allāhumma innī as'aluka-l-ʿafwa wa-l-ʿāfiyah fi-d-dunyā wa-l-ākhirah

O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter.

Ibn Majah

اَللّٰهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِيْ وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِيْ

Allāhumma-stur ʿawrātī wa āmin rawʿātī

O Allah, conceal my faults and keep me safe from what I fear.

Abu Dawud

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ، وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ، وَجَمِيْعِ سَخَطِكَ

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min zawāli niʿmatik, wa taḥawwuli ʿāfiyatik, wa fujā'ati niqmatik, wa jamīʿi sakhaṭik

O Allah, I seek Your protection from the decline of Your blessings, the passing of well-being, Your sudden punishment, and all that displeases You.

Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā ʿamiltu, wa min sharri mā lam aʿmal

O Allah, I seek Your protection from the evil of what I have done and the evil of what I have not done.

Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ خَطِيْئَتِيْ وَجَهْلِيْ، وَإِسْرَافِيْ فِيْ أَمْرِيْ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّيْ

Allāhumma-ghfir lī khaṭī'atī wa jahlī, wa isrāfī fī amrī, wa mā Anta aʿlamu bihī minnī

O Allah, forgive me my sins and my ignorance, my extravagance in my affairs, and what You know better than me.

Bukhari & Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ ذَنْبِيْ كُلَّهُ، دِقَّهُ وَجِلَّهُ، وَأَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ، وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ وَسِرَّهُ

Allāhumma-ghfir lī dhanbī kullahū, diqqahū wa jillahū, wa awwalahū wa ākhirahū, wa ʿalāniyatahū wa sirrahū

O Allah, forgive all my sins, the small and the large, the first and the last, the public and the private.

Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لَنَا مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا تَحُوْلُ بِهِ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مَعَاصِيْكَ، وَمِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنَا بِهِ جَنَّتَكَ، وَمِنَ الْيَقِيْنِ مَا تُهَوِّنُ بِهِ عَلَيْنَا مَصَائِبَ الدُّنْيَا

Allāhumma-qsim lanā min khashyatika mā taḥūlu bihī baynanā wa bayna maʿāṣīk, wa min ṭāʿatika mā tuballighunā bihī jannatak, wa mina-l-yaqīni mā tuhawwinu bihī ʿalaynā maṣā'iba-d-dunyā

O Allah, grant us such fear of You that it becomes a barrier between us and disobedience to You, such obedience that it delivers us to Your Paradise, and such certainty that the calamities of this world become easy for us.

Tirmidhi

Start of the day

Morning adhkar

اَللّٰهُ لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِى السَّمٰـوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِىْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰـوٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَئُوْدُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظِيْمُ

Allāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa-l-Ḥayyu-l-Qayyūm, lā ta'khudhuhū sinatuw-wa lā nawm, lahū mā fi-s-samāwāti wa mā fi-l-arḍ, man dha-l-ladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahū illā bi-idhnih, yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa mā khalfahum, wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shay'im-min ʿilmihī illā bi-mā shā', wasiʿa kursiyyuhu-s-samāwāti wa-l-arḍ, wa lā ya'ūduhū ḥifẓuhumā, wa Huwa-l-ʿAliyyu-l-ʿAẓīm

Allah, there is no god worthy of worship but He, the Ever Living, The Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His Knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. And He is the Most High, the Magnificent.

Quran 2:255 (Ayat al-Kursi)

قُلْ هُوَ اللّٰهُ أَحَدٌ ، اَللّٰهُ الصَّمَدُ ، لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

Qul Huwa-llāhu Aḥad. Allāhu-ṣ-Ṣamad. Lam yalid wa lam yūlad. Wa lam yakul-lahū kufuwan aḥad

Say, He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Self-Sufficient Master. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.

Surah Al-Ikhlas (112)

قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِيْ الْعُقَدِ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi-l-falaq. Min sharri mā khalaq. Wa min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqab. Wa min sharri-n-naffāthāti fi-l-ʿuqad. Wa min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad

Say, I seek protection of the Lord of the daybreak. From the evil of what He has created. And from the evil of the darkness when it settles. And from the evil of those who blow on knots. And from the evil of an envier when he envies.

Surah Al-Falaq (113)

قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ، مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ، إِلٰهِ النَّاسِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ، الَّذِيْ يُوَسْوِسُ فِيْ صُدُوْرِ النَّاسِ ، مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ

Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi-n-nās. Maliki-n-nās. Ilāhi-n-nās. Min sharri-l-waswāsi-l-khannās. Alladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri-n-nās. Mina-l-jinnati wa-n-nās

Say, I seek protection of the Lord of mankind. The King of mankind. The God of mankind. From the evil of the retreating whisperer. Who whispers in the breasts of mankind. From among the jinn and mankind.

Surah An-Nas (114)

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّيْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِيْ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوْءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوْءُ بِذَنْبِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allāhumma Anta Rabbī, lā ilāha illā Ant, khalaqtanī wa ana ʿabduk, wa ana ʿalā ʿahdika wa waʿdika ma-staṭaʿt, aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣanaʿt, abū'u laka bi-niʿmatika ʿalayy, wa abū'u bi-dhanbī fa-ghfir lī fa-innahū lā yaghfiru-dh-dhunūba illā Ant

O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god worthy of worship except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I am upon Your covenant and Your promise as much as I am able. I seek Your protection from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.

Bukhari (Sayyid al-Istighfar)

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min-l-hammi wa-l-ḥazan, wa aʿūdhu bika minal-ʿajzi wa-l-kasal, wa aʿūdhu bika minal-jubni wa-l-bukhl, wa aʿūdhu bika min ghalabati-d-dayni wa qahri-r-rijāl

O Allah, I seek Your protection from anxiety and grief. I seek Your protection from inability and laziness. I seek Your protection from cowardice and miserliness. I seek Your protection from being overcome by debt and being overpowered by men.

Abu Dawud

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Aṣbaḥnā wa aṣbaḥa-l-mulku li-llāh, wa-l-ḥamdu li-llāh, lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr

We have reached the morning and so has the sovereignty of Allah. All praise is due to Allah. There is no god worthy of worship but Allah alone, without any partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things All-Powerful.

Abu Dawud

اَللّٰهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُوْرُ

Allāhumma bika aṣbaḥnā, wa bika amsaynā, wa bika naḥyā, wa bika namūt, wa ilayka-n-nushūr

O Allah, by Your grace we have reached the morning, by Your grace we reach the evening, by Your grace we live, by Your grace we die, and to You is the resurrection.

Evening adhkar

Adhkar after salah

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

Astaghfiru-llāh, Astaghfiru-llāh, Astaghfiru-llāh, Allāhumma Anta-s-Salām, wa minka-s-salām, tabārakta yā Dha-l-Jalāli wa-l-Ikrām

I seek the forgiveness of Allah (3x). O Allah, You are The Flawless and The Source of Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, full of Majesty and Honour.

Muslim

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ، اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَـدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَـدُّ

Lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku, wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr. Allāhumma lā māniʿa li-mā aʿṭayt, wa lā muʿṭiya li-mā manaʿt, wa lā yanfaʿu dha-l-jaddi minka-l-jadd

There is no god but Allah. He is Alone and He has no partner whatsoever. To Him Alone belong all sovereignty and all praise. He is over all things All-Powerful. O Allah, there is none who can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold; and the wealth of the wealthy does not avail them against You.

Bukhari & Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَعِنِّيْ عَلَىٰ ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

Allāhumma aʿinnī ʿalā dhikrika wa shukrika wa ḥusni ʿibādatik

O Allah, help me in remembering You, in being grateful to You, and in worshipping You in an excellent manner.

Abu Dawud

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ (٣٣) ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ (٣٣) ، اَللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ (٣٣) ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ

Subḥāna-llāh (33x), Alḥamduli-llāh (33x), Allāhu akbar (33x), Lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamd, wa Huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr

Allah is free from imperfection (33x). All praise be to Allah (33x). Allah is the Greatest (33x). There is no god but Allah alone, without any partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise, and He is over all things All-Powerful.

Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَجِرْنِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ

Allāhumma ajirnī mina-n-nār

O Allah, protect me from the Hell-fire.

Abu Dawud

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Allāhumma innī as'aluka ʿilma-n-nāfiʿā, wa rizqan ṭayyibā, wa ʿamalam-mutaqabbalā

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, wholesome sustenance, and deeds which are accepted.

Ibn Majah

At bedtime

Before-sleep adhkar

بِاسْمِكَ اللّٰهُمَّ أَمُوْتُ وَأَحْيَا

Bismika-llāhumma amūtu wa aḥyā

In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.

Bukhari

اَللّٰهُمَّ قِنِيْ عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ

Allāhumma qinī ʿadhābaka yawma tabʿathu ʿibādak

O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants.

Abu Dawud

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَكَفَانَا وَآوَانَا، فَكَمْ مِّمَّنْ لَا كَافِيَ لَهُ وَلَا مُؤْوِيَ

Alḥamdu li-llāhi-l-ladhī aṭʿamanā wa saqānā wa kafānā wa āwānā, fa-kam mim-man lā kāfiya lahū wa lā mu'wī

All praise is due to Allah who fed us, gave us drink, sufficed us and sheltered us. How many are there who have no one to suffice them or shelter them!

Muslim

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ (٣٣) ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ (٣٣) ، اَللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ (٣٤)

Subḥāna-llāh (33x), Alḥamduli-llāh (33x), Allāhu akbar (34x)

Glory be to Allah (33x). All praise be to Allah (33x). Allah is the Greatest (34x).

Daily duas

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ

Bismillāh

In the name of Allah.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَطْعَمَنِيْ هٰذَا وَرَزَقَنِيْهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِّنِّيْ وَلَا قُوَّةٍ

Alḥamdu li-llāhi-l-ladhī aṭʿamanī hādhā wa razaqanīhi min ghayri ḥawlim-minnī wa lā quwwah

All praise is due to Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any power or might from me.

Tirmidhi

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

Bismillāh, tawakkaltu ʿala-llāh, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāh

In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor might except with Allah.

Tirmidhi

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَلَّ، أَوْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أُزَلَّ، أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ، أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika an aḍilla aw uḍall, aw azilla aw uzall, aw aẓlima aw uẓlam, aw ajhala aw yujhala ʿalayy

O Allah, I seek Your protection from going astray or being led astray, slipping or being caused to slip, doing wrong or being wronged, behaving ignorantly or being treated ignorantly.

Abu Dawud

اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِيْ قَلْبِيْ نُوْرًا، وَفِيْ لِسَانِيْ نُوْرًا، وَاجْعَلْ فِيْ سَمْعِيْ نُوْرًا، وَاجْعَلْ فِيْ بَصَرِيْ نُوْرًا

Allāhumma-jʿal fī qalbī nūrā, wa fī lisānī nūrā, waj-ʿal fī samʿī nūrā, waj-ʿal fī baṣarī nūrā

O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my tongue, light in my hearing, and light in my sight.

Bukhari & Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِيْ أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

Allāhumma-ftaḥ lī abwāba raḥmatik

O Allah, open the doors of Your mercy for me.

Muslim

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

Allāhumma innī as'aluka min faḍlik

O Allah, I ask You of Your favour.

Muslim

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ، اَللّٰهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا الشَّيْطَانَ، وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا

Bismillāh, Allāhumma jannibnā-sh-shayṭān, wa jannibi-sh-shayṭāna mā razaqtanā

In the name of Allah. O Allah, keep the Shaytan away from us and keep him away from what You bless us with.

Bukhari & Muslim

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيْ سَخَّرَ لَنَا هٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِيْنَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُوْنَ

Subḥāna-l-ladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahū muqrinīn, wa innā ilā Rabbinā la-munqalibūn

Glory be to the One who has subjected this to us, for we could never have accomplished this ourselves. And to our Lord we shall return.

Quran 43:13-14

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ، وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيْهَا، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا، وَشَرِّ مَا فِيْهَا

Allāhumma innī as'aluka khayra hādhihi-l-qaryah, wa khayra mā fīhā, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā, wa sharri mā fīhā

O Allah, I ask You for the good of this town, the good of what is in it, and I seek Your protection from its evil and the evil of what is in it.

Ibn Hibban
